1. Introduction
CasedCalc ("we," "us," or "our") provides a suite of completion engineering calculators at [insert domain]. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and what choices you have. It applies to the marketing site and dashboard described here as they exist today — as the product adds accounts, payments, or other features, this policy will need to be updated to match.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic and usage patterns — pages visited, referrer, device/browser type, and approximate location. We never send analytics data until you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit; if you decline, no analytics cookies or identifiers are set, and Google's Consent Mode keeps analytics storage disabled. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. See Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle this data.
The only browser storage we use ourselves is localStorage, to remember your light/dark theme preference, your dashboard sidebar's collapsed state, and your cookie-consent choice — these stay on your device and are never transmitted to us.
If we add error monitoring or similar tools later, we'll disclose them here and, where required, ask for consent first.
Accounts
The site does not currently have user accounts, logins, or stored passwords. The calculators run entirely in your browser/device and don't transmit your calculation inputs to us.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to messages sent through the contact form
- To notify you about calculator launches, if you've asked to be notified
- To maintain the security and proper functioning of the site
- To understand aggregate site usage, only if you've accepted analytics cookies
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
Contact form submissions are processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service, which forwards your message to our inbox. Their handling of that data is governed by Web3Forms' own privacy policy. We don't control how they process data in transit, only what we do with it once it reaches us.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 is used as described in Section 2 above.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We don't set any cookies until you accept the cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies used to distinguish visitors and sessions; if you decline or don't respond, none are set. Separately, the site uses your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) to remember UI preferences and your consent choice, as described above. You can clear either at any time through your browser settings, or revisit your consent choice via "Cookie Settings" in the footer, without affecting your ability to use the site.
6. Data Retention
Contact form messages are kept in our inbox for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and document the inquiry, after which they may be deleted. We don't currently retain any other personal data.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
8. Children's Privacy
This site is intended for engineering professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves — particularly once accounts, payments, or analytics are introduced. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
