Well Schematic Builder
Well Schematic Builder turns a list of casing strings and downhole equipment into the wellbore elevation engineers attach to drilling and workover programs. The list decides what exists and the drawing decides where it sits: drag a depth handle for roughly the right position, or type the depth when it has to be exact — each corrects the other as you go. Consistency checks flag the things that are easy to miss in a table, such as a packer below its own casing shoe or a string that will not pass through the one outside it, but they never block the drawing, because a schematic is a record of what is and a well is sometimes documented precisely because something about it is wrong. A legend is generated alongside the drawing, since no universal symbol standard exists and the set is switchable to match your house style.
How It Works
No formula — this is a drawing tool. Depths and dimensions are stated as entered; radial scale is exaggerated so small strings stay legible, which is the schematic convention rather than a scale drawing.
See every formula worked through in detail on the Completion Engineering Formulas reference.
When You'd Use It
Before a workover, an engineer needs a current wellbore diagram to attach to the program — showing casing setting depths, cement tops and where the packer and sleeves actually sit — so everyone on the job is working from the same picture of the well.
